Myotonic (Fainting) Goats

Two goats, one standing and one lying down outdoors.

About the Breed

Myotonic ‘fainting’ goats have a harmless condition called myotonia congenital that causes their muscles to freeze when they’re startled or excited, for about 10-15 seconds.

Myotonic goats are smaller than most breeds and easy to care for. They are very friendly, intelligent and a lot of fun to raise. They can live 10 to 15 years. At this time the myotonic goat is on the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy Conservation list; officially declaring them a rare breed and placing them on their “watch” list. There is thought to be only around ten thousand of these goats in the world.

What do we produce?

We take very special care of all our animals and take great pride in our herd. Our fainting goats are very friendly, happy and healthy. We specialize in the smaller line, moonspots and blue eyes.

Pricing

Pricing starts at $500 for wethers and $700 for doelings. Price increases depending on coat coloration, eye color and horn status. The price for all goats includes their CDT vaccine, de-worming and castration for all bucks before leaving.

MGR Registered

All our goats are registered with MGR and all kids are eligible to be registered as 100% purebred myotonic.

Wait List

We keep a paid wait list for our kids. A non-refundable deposit of $50 per kid is required to join the list. This comes off the total price of the kid and can be used on any available goat at any time.  *If you have no other goats or herd animals, you will be required to join the list for two kids!

Reservations

Deposits are $100 per kid to reserve a kid. All Deposits paid are Non-Refundable (including wait list deposits) unless the animal dies on our property or becomes ill and I am not able to sell it to you. Please do NOT pay the Deposit unless you are 100% sure that you want the animal. Once the deposit is paid, the animal is removed from sale and is yours to pick up when it is ready to leave. If you change your mind about your purchase, your deposit will not be refunded. The only way deposits are refunded are if I cancel the sale for any reason.

Additional Information

  • I will not sell a single goat to anyone that does not already own at least one companion animal. Goats are a herd animal and they must have a companion animal to live with, preferably another goat.
  • I DO NOT sell my fainting goats for meat. I sell my goats as pets only! I do reserve the right to cancel or refuse a sale if I feel it is in the best interest of my animals to do so.
  • WE DO NOT DISBUD OUR KID GOATS! If horns are a deal breaker for you, ask if we have any polled kids. I will not make an exception and disbud.
